Aus intersektionaler Perspektive werden die Themen Migration, Religion, Gender und Sexualität, anhand eines Portraits von Pepsi behandelt. Der Film schafft es, einem interdisziplinären, aktivistischen und künstlerischem Anspruch gerecht zu werden, und läuft aktuell auch auf internationalen Filmfestivals wie zB. dem Londoner LGBTQ Filmfestival Ende März 2020. Pepsi erzählt von ihrer Geschichte, ihrem Weg und ihren Kämpfen, der Film begleitet sie dabei mit Bildern. “Gay, Muslim, Nurse, Rebel, Refugee, all of that – I love it!”, Pepsi.
“How I Came Here”
Ist ein Kurzfilm, der große Ähnlichkeiten zum Dokumtarfilm-Format hat. Thematisiert wird die Situation von Geflüchteten und People-in-Transit am Balkan in den Jahren 2018/19, mit einem Fokus auf Nordbosnien. Auch hier kommen Stimmen von Betroffenen und selbstorganisierten Supportstrukturen zu Wort.
Anschließend an die Screenings werden Enrico und Davide, zwei Mitglieder des italienischen Filmkollektivs “Caucaso Factory” https://www.caucaso.info, das die Filme produziert hat, und Aktivist*innen gemeinsam mit dem Publikum diskutieren und für Fragen zur Verfügung stehen.
Österreichs geografische Lage und Nähe zum Balkan, erschafft eine besondere Notwendigkeit der stetigen Auseinandersetzung mit den Themen Migration, Festung Europa und ihren Verknüpfungen. Obwohl sich die Außengrenzen der EU stetig optimieren, zeigen die beiden Filme die Entschlossenheit von jenen, die versuchen sie zu überwinden!

From an intersectional perspective the film deals with the topics migration, religion, gender and sexuality, along the portrait of protagonist Pepsi. Requirements from an interdisciplinary, activist and artistic perspective are fulfilled by the film, therefore it’s currently shown at international film festivals, like the LGBTQ film festival in London in the end of March 2020. Pepsi shares with us her story, her way and her struggles – the film joins her with pictures. “Gay, Muslim, Nurse, Rebel, Refugee, all of that – I love it!”, Pepsi.
“How I came Here”
Is a short-movie with similarities to a documentary,that addresses the situation of Refugees and People-in-Transit on the Balkans in the years 2018/19 with a focus on North-Bosnia. Voices of those affected and self-organised support structures are made visible and audible.
Afterwards there will be a discussion with Enrico and Davide, who are part of the “Caucaso Factory” https://www.caucaso.info who produced the film, activists and the audience.
Austrias geographic proximity to the Balkans, produces a specific need for constant dealing with the topics migration, fortress Europe and it’s correlation. Even though the fortress Europe optimizes itself constantly, these films show the resolve of people to enter it!

!!Veranstaltung am Montag 16.3. im Admiralkino ist abgesagt. Veranstaltung am Sonntag, W23 15.3. wird in kleinem Rahmen stattfinden!!
Enrico und Davide, die beiden Filmemacher bleiben zu Hause und werden per Videokonferenz zugeschaltet.
Ad Corona-Virus:
Als Veranstalter*innen stehen wir kritisch gegenüber restriktiven Verordnungen von Seiten der Regierung. Zusammenhänge von gesellschaftlichem Ohnmachtsgefühl, Angst, Individualisierung und Entsolidarisierung, wollen wir ebenfalls nicht außer Acht lassen.
Wir glauben an die Möglichkeit von selbstbestimmtem und selbstverantwortlichem Agieren unserer Mitmenschen. Wir werden uns um Hygiene kümmern und appellieren an alle Teilnehmer*innen, generell einen achstamen Umgang zu pflegen. Wenn ihr gefährdet seid, oder Symptome habt, kommt bitte nicht.
In der Diskussion wollen wir uns auch der Frage stellen, was die aktuelle Lage bedeutet, für die Lebensrealitäten von Refugees und People-in-Transit. Aktuell sind Vorgänge rund um die Thematik im öffentlichen Diskurs noch unsichtbarer als sonst. Darüber wollen wir reden und freuen uns auf den Abend. 🙂

As Organisingteam we are critical about the harsh restrictions of the government. It’s important to see connections between Fear, Individualisation, Lackings in Solidarity and Powerlessness.
We believe in the ability of people around as of self-determination and self-reliability. We will take care of hygiene and appeal on every participant to stay accountable. If you are vulnerable or have symptoms, please stay at home.
Because actual developments around the topic are even more invisible in a public discourse we think that it’s necessary to speakt about them. In the discussion we want to raise the question what this will bring for the life-realities of Refugees and People-in-Transit.
