Anarchistisches Café am Sonntag, den 10.02 ab 19:00 Uhr (gemeinsames Kochen ab 17 Uhr)

Filmvorführung: „Vor dem Knall – Ein Film über den G20 Gipfel in Hamburg“

Zwei Wochen vor dem G20 Gipfel in Hamburg: Die Stadt bereitet sich auf eines der größten internationalen Ereignisse ihre Geschichte vor. Wut und Ohnmacht sind Umschreibungen, die in diesen Tagen nicht selten geäußert werden. In den Tagen vor dem Gipfel rufen verschiedenste Gruppierungen zu Protestaktionen auf. Die Themen, die sich mit diesem Gipfel verknüpfen sind elementar: Politische Umbrüche, Kriege, Menschenrechtsverletzungen und Umweltprobleme. Zudem kommt der Zustand politischer Instabilität.

Wie lange nicht mehr wird an diesen Tagen in Hamburg auch über Demokratie debattiert, ob auf öffentlichen Plätzen, in Restaurants, in Bussen, Zuhause oder auf der Arbeit. Der non-profit Film VOR DEM KNALL dokumentiert diese Stimmung vor dem Gipfel.

Im Anschluss wird es Raum und Zeit für eine Diskussion geben.

Die Idee hinter dem anarchistischen Café ist, dass wir ein gemütliches Zusammenkommen und lebendigen Austausch von Menschen, die sich für Herrschaftskritik und Anarchismus interessieren, ermöglichen wollen. Ein wertschätzender Umgang miteinander ist uns wichtig!

Es wird Getränke und auch was zu Essen geben, gerne könnt ihr auch selber etwas mitbringen (bitte vegan/dumpster-vegetarisch)

This time there will be no special event, but even more time and space for chatting, reading, playing games and instruments, exchange and drinking tea or coffee. Feel free to bring instruments for jam session, games and texts etc.

The idea behind the anarchist café is that we want to enable a nice gathering and a vivid exchange of people who are interested in anarchism and anti-authoritarian thinking. An appreciative and considerate interaction is important for us!

There will be beverages and food. It would be nice if you also bring something (vegan/dumpster-vegetarian please!)

Diesmal wird es kein Programm geben, dafür umso mehr Raum und Zeit fürs Plaudern, Austauschen, Instrumente und Spiele spielen, Lesen, Tee- oder Kaffeetrinken. Bringt auch gerne Instrumente zum Musizieren, Spiele, Texte zum Lesen etc. mit.

The documentary tells the story of the Earth Liberation Front movement in the US by focusing on the transformation and radicalization of one of its members, Daniel McGowan.

Since 1996 the ELF - operating in separate anonymous cells without any central leadership - has launched arsons and other actions of sabotage against dozens of businesses they accused of destroying the environment. In that time, the Earth Liberation Front was called America's "number one domestic terrorism threat" and investigations were started. Nine years later, Daniel McGowan and five other ELF activists were arrested and facing serious prison charges.

The film shows a chronicle of McGowans activities with ELF and the repression towards him and other environmental activists.

IF A TREE FALLS asks hard questions about environmentalism, activism, repression and the way “terrorism“ is defined.

After the film, there will be time for discussion about the topics of the film and about local environmental activism and repression.
